Mecklenburg Organ Museum Malchow

The convent church, built according to the designs by Friedrich Wilhelm Buttels (Neustrelitz) between 1844 and 1849 and had to be reconstructed between 1888 and 1890, after a big fire. Organs from the Mecklenburg part of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania are stored in the convent church, they stem mainly from the 19th-century.

The main focus is on the instruments from churches who are being reconstructed and on organs that have become unplayable to save them from being destroyed. The collection consists of playable and organ fragments such as small organ parts.

The museum offers interesting special lectures and guided tours with sound examples on different organs.
