Mueritz - National Park
The Müritz National Park is situated in Germany's northeast, between Berlin and Rostock, on the east bank of the Müritz.
The Müritz is the largest lake in North Germany, famous for its clear water and magical landscape. A 500m wide stretch on the east bank belongs to the Müritz National Park. The Müritz-National Park has over 100 lakes, which are bigger than 1 hectare.
The biggest section, east of the Müritz, is characterised by pine forests and large bogs.
In the smaller section around Serrahn one sees old beech tree forests in a hilly landscape with many small lakes and moors.
The Müritz National Park is ideal for bicycle excursions, more or less in any season.
Well worth is a detour to the Kafling Hill Tower.
