Lake Plauen - Mecklenburg's third-largest lake

Lake Plauen is the third-largest lake in Mecklenburg. Most of the lake is situated in the district of Parchim. This lake has a surface of 38,4 square kilometres with a maximal depth of 25,5 metres, average depth is 6,8 metres.

Lake PLauen is connected via the river Elde with Lake Kölpin, Lake Feesen and the Müritz. The Elde is connected with Lake Plauen via the Müritz-Elde-Waterway.

The town Plau situated on the west bank; the town is the region's tourist centre.

The bike trail around the lake is ideal for a bicycle trip.
